January 2005:
Being endlessly happy seems to be a distinct possibility in a suite called Infinity.
London 's newest, most luxuriously romantic suite is at the Langham Hotel, right in the heart of the West End in Portland Place .
The suite is open from January 24th, and the hotel's brief to the designer was simple: the Infinity Suite had to be beautiful - and it had to make its guests feel beautiful. And it had to feel right for both men and women.
The suite has a wonderful plush feeling. Traditional materials - which get better with age - such as velvet, silk taffeta, toile, lend a timeless and romantic feeling. The subtle lighting and a rich collection of artwork add to the suite's jewel-like effect.
The Infinity Suite has an entrance lobby, a drawing room, a master bedroom with a dressing room and a vast bathroom, a kitchen, and a second bedroom and bathroom. At 236 square metres, it is amongst the largest suites 5 - star suites in London .
The master bathroom has a wonderfully unusual feature - an "infinity" bath. This is an ultra deep bath, which constantly overflows, creating the sound of cascading water. It is designed around the concept of chromatherapy or colour therapy. At the touch of a button, the water moves through a spectrum of eight colours from relaxing to stimulating. In addition, the gentle massaging of tiny bubbles accentuates the therapeutic experience. The perfect way to re-live every moment of a perfect day... |
